The Abyssal Archive

Hi, guys! Long time no see
Happy to share my entry to CGconnect Launch Challenge - Architecture Evolved

A submerged Mesoamerican-style stepped pyramid, sunken Mayan Temple - Repurposing an ancient ritual site into a deep-sea marine research station and hydrothermal energy plant.

The Vision
Rather than treating a sunken ruin as a tomb, futuristic engineers have utilized the massive, stable stone foundations to anchor a series of pressurized hydro-domes. These glass "bubbles" allow scientists to inhabit the temple floors, using the ancient corridors as shielded pathways.

The Technology: The temple’s central shaft, once used for celestial alignment, has been converted into a thermal siphon, pulling energy from the Earth's crust to power the facility.

The Inhabitants: Instead of priests, the "temple" is now home to marine biologists and roboticists

Material Synergy: Stone is incredibly strong under the uniform pressure of the deep ocean, making ancient ruins the perfect "skeleton" for a modular underwater base.

Software used - 3dsmax, Zbrush, Substance 3D Painter. Rendered using Chaos Corona
Postproduction - Photoshop
